  • Abstract
The development of electronically steerable passive array radiator (ESPAR) antenna array is a progressing research area promising to play a significant role in commercial smart antenna applications. In this paper, an effort to optimize the overall structure of a seven-element ESPAR antenna in order to form a directional beam with sufficient beamwidth to a predetermined direction and achieve an adequate impedance bandwidth is carried out utilizing the genetic algorithms (GA) optimization technique. The resulting antenna can be used as receiver for DVB-T signals.
