Data processing challenges

The paper presents a summary of the work carried out to date as part of ELEXON´s BSC Review of Smart Metering and AMR´. This will include (1)The potential benefits of smart metering and AMR for the Settlement process (2)The changes to the BSC which are likely to be required in order to facilitate a market driven rollout without introducing any undue risk to Settlement (3)the potential implications in terms of governance, industry roles and processes, use of the Half Hourly market, implications for the Non Half Hourly market and profiling, market data volumes.
