Abstract :
The opportunity to develop a real life IEC 61850 [1] GOOSE [2] application arose during the initial stages of substation refurbishment projects. Existing software based interlocking systems were identified as having to be replaced. This paper details the development of the solution and replacement strategy. It is not the intention to describe interlocking rules.
