Abstract
Mobile generators are used to provide emergency supply support by the distribution network operators in the UK. There are concerns on the compliance of the generator connection with the standards and practices of network design and operation especially in the area of network protection. This paper gives a brief review of arrangements of network protections and mobile generator applications within central networks. The risks of network protection of using mobile generators are then examined and highlighted by modelling studies.
