Abstract :
Wide penetration of phasor measurement units (PMUs) can be naturally achieved by integrating PMU functions with protection and control platforms. Modern platforms provide time synchronization, sampling accuracy, communications capabilities, and processing power required to comply with the C37.118 PMU standard. A synchrophasor algorithm and method for seamlessly integrating it with today´s digital relays is presented.
