Abstract :
This paper represents a comparative study of switching methods in order to achieve the smallest magnitude of inrush current. The equations of inrush currents are obtained to reduce transient inrush current of a power system transformer in a typical power system. The best method of inrush current damping is introduced. The simulation results of EMTP software are provided to prove the evaluation of the analytical comparative study.
