Abstract
In this paper a small signal model of a power electronic converter is derived in the time domain. The paper first describes a large signal power electronic converter model with ideal switches. This model is then linearized to form a small signal model. An example of a buck-boost converter is used to show the highly linearized behavior of power electronic converters. Finally a discussion is presented on the use of the small signal models for producing models in other domains.
