  • Abstract
    Fifteen PSSs have been designed for a 16-generator system, this paper carries out post-design system analyses, robustness tests, redundancy validations and time-domain simulations. Since the design is a sequential procedure, some further analyses and explanations are provided on the choice of candidate generator. Then robustness tests and time-domain simulations on stabilized system are carried out for different stabilized states. Specific efforts are paid on the robustness of the PSS parameters, including the phase compensation parameters and the gains, the losses of the PSSs are also investigated. Some conclusions on system analysis and PSS design, which are not very clear or even ignored in existing researches, are emphasized in this paper.
