Abstract :
High voltage single-core cable is widely used in urban electrical transmission. If lightning strikes on an overhead line connected with a cable, an over voltage will invade into this cable and induct an over voltage in its shielding. In this paper, based on the typical grounding method of cable shielding and the connection with power system in Guangzhou Power Grid, the ATP models are set up; the shielding lightning over voltages and shielding switching over voltages are simulated. To validate the correctness of models, calculation, several impulsive trials were done in real cables of Guangzhou power grid system.
