Abstract :
Although much attention has been given to launchers for high-order rotating modes for quasi-optical mode converters, there are still some gyrotrons in use that have outputs in a TE0n mode. Radiation patterns from square-cut Vlasov launchers calculated by some simple models was compared with those from Surf3d. Some simple initial considerations of perturbations in the waveguide was discussed and initial results presented.
