Abstract :
The Glostavent anaesthetic machine has been designed to enable inhalational anaesthesia to be administered safely in parts of the world with limited facilities. A trial was carried out in eighteen centres in sub-Saharan Africa in which the Glostavent was shown to be safe, effective and reliable.
