Abstract
The reliability and availability of rolling stock and infrastructure and its subsystem is a key success factor for the performance of the Dutch rail system. The RailSensereg approach to improving reliability and availability is based on the application of sensors, innovative data management and real-time model-based analysis. The methodology has proven its worth in a scientific setting and is currently employed in the Dutch railway system.
