Real time energy consumption monitoring as a tool for the freight trains’ dispatching

On this paper describes the concept of energy effective trains´ traffic management and the energy consumption monitoring system as a section of the decision support system. The new system integrates the functions of data collection, processing and analyses of the specific consumption indexes for the railway sections. The specific information has laid a foundation to the realization of an effective dispatching.
