Abstract :
We are interested in the evolution of the main operational parameters, for an EC 43- 3.6 MW locomotive (part of SNCFR fleet), by limits of the maximum adherence force for rated power. The steps of modeling and numerical simulation are based on the case study on induction motors, having the same rated power and rated speed like direct current motors which were replaced in the modernization process of locomotives. From numerical simulation program, results the maximum requirement of locomotive, which at rated power development ensures the maximum adherence force of locomotive. Some comments upon the obtained results are also given.
