Abstract
In this paper we present a new algorithm for mobile power updates in wireless CDMA systems. The algorithm in fact represents accelerated conjugate gradient method (CGM) for mobile power updates of the algorithm popularly known as the CDPC (constrained distributed power control) algorithm. The new algorithm, with rapid convergence and tolerance with fast fading, is obtained using genetic algorithms (GA) that can be used to initialize parameters for CGM. We present simulation results using realistic data to illustrate the power control for variable signal-to-inference ratio (SIR) target. For improved rate of convergence, we compared our proposed method with the constrained second-order power control (CSOPC) with fixed SIR.
