Abstract
This contribution presents an application of time-domain transmittance approximation for non-integer order parametric models. The study case consists of averaged values for input respiratory impedance from subjects diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A classical PI controller is designed via computer aided design tools based on frequency response and given specifications as robustness, overshoot and settling time. Based on typical ventilatory assisting device values, the control performance is evaluated with respect to a given air-pressure reference.
