Abstract :
The paper reports on experimental investigations into microwave properties of various materials that can be used to imitate real tissues in a breast phantom for testing an ultra wide band breast cancer radar detection system. The experiments involve an open ended probe technique to measure permittivity of selected materials across an ultra wide frequency band from 2 to 15 GHz.
