Abstract
The current antenna systems have limited capacity when it comes to the frequency usage. Smart antennas provide a smart solution to this problem by steering the beam power in the desired direction and pointing nulls in the undesired direction. Genetic Algorithm is an optimization algorithm which mimics the underlying phenomenon of evolution of natural species and genetic recombination. In this paper we propose an application of genetic algorithm towards the implementation of two important properties of smart antenna system which are the direction of arrival detection and beamforming. Here we also incorporate the property of dasiamemorypsila from artificial immune system to make the system faster.
