    Improved maintenance and safety for aircraft structures requires more detailed, up-to-date information on aircraft “health”. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) technology has the potential to provide regular, precise information on degradation within aircraft structures that will allow optimised, cost-effective Condition Based Maintenance to be instigated.
