Abstract :
The first part of this manuscript provides an introduction to the TATEM project and charts the journey towards a ´health managed aircraft and enterprise´. The second part of this manuscript explores the ´emerging operational needs´ that aircraft health management aims to satisfy in the context of commercial fixed wing transport aircraft and helicopters.
