Abstract
The value of instant message in computer-supported cooperative work is presented, and the disadvantage of instant message is analyzed when using the client/server, peer-to-peer or hybrid mode. The IMR (independent meeting room) mode is brought forward. This model divides into three levels, which are CSCW center, IMR and collaborative partner. The exchange and the data transmission between the partners are accomplished with the non-central P2P technology. Intelligent route arithmetic based on the dynamical transmission efficiency is provided. Each node can acquire the resource from the other nodes which can be used, and combine these nodes and which make these nodes take part in the flow distribution, path choice etc., and assume the minimum delay time. The independent meeting-room mode in this paper covers the shortage of the existing IM, which improved the communication ability by fully using the resource of the client, and it is the ideal communication method for multi-side collaborative working.
