Abstract :
This paper provides a novel framework for semantic representation of Chinese news based on conceptual network which is described hierarchically in three layers. we first define the structure of independent concept that is the basic element of the framework. Then the domain specific semantic unit called knowledge node is illustrated. Finally, the knowledge tree which gives a well formed semantic hierarchy is discussed. An example on Chinese economic news is used through this paper to illustrate the intrinsic mechanism of this framework. The proposed framework can be used to express the semantic information of the concepts and their relations in Chinese news for further processing.
