Abstract
An artificial evolutionary developmental system is described in this paper. Zygotes are grown into creatures using a development model based on gene regulatory network. Genetic algorithm is used to evolve the gene regulatory network, giving rise to effective locomotive virtual creatures in 3D physical simulated environment. The morphology and behavior of creatures change in a natural way during interaction with human users and the environment.
