Abstract :
Emission processes can start in surface defects of electrodes (pores) at low strength of external electric field 105-106 V/m. Decreasing gas content suppress this processes. It is shown that porous electrodes made of small metal balls alow faster outgasing of electrodes to increase the electric strength of the vacuum gap.
