Abstract :
Knowledge management plays a critical role in performance of enterprises in today´s knowledge-based economies. Currently, knowledge management is often regarded as synonymous with knowledge sharing. This paper analyzes the value and mechanisms of knowledge sharing and innovation, and concludes that knowledge innovation is the fundamental goal as well as a desired result of knowledge management. Applying a constructivist methodology in strategic management, we construct a conceptual model, and thereby suggest a strategy for implementing knowledge innovation. We argue that the model and the strategy presented in this paper provide a strategic guideline for enterprises to promote knowledge management through managing knowledge innovation, and thereby assist them in flexibly adapting to the changeable environment and successfully achieving sustainable development.
