  • Abstract
The first generation of time-based competition has represented the competitive advantages which has already become a necessary condition for the companies´ survival nowadays, because the benefits of reducing delivery time is very limited. Meyer put forward the second-generation TBC, namely that enterprise must make decision rapidly and change strategic direction quickly. To achieve the rapidness (zero time) in response to customers´ demand, the rapid strategic decision is a necessary condition for its realization. In this paper, we firstly investigated the distribution of time cost in strategic decision-making process by the empirical studies, which shows that strategic decision-making time mostly distribute to intelligence activities and design activities, but it contributes less to the choice activities. Secondly, this article has summed up the influencing factors of the speed for strategic decision-making, based on the summarizing of the correlation research. Finally, based on the full considering of these factors, this paper also put forward some measures to compress the time cost in information and designing activities.
