Abstract
In modern container terminal operations, the Global Positioning System(GPS) is applied to navigating the rubber-tired gantry crane (RTG) to eliminate operation mistakes. Both GPS navigating system and container terminal operation system such as COSMOS are parallel. However, the navigating system can be integrated into a container terminal operation system. To do this, the following 4 problems must be solved: Integrating 2 hardware systems in 1; rebuilding real-time kinematic (RTK) data link; displaying navigation information and operation commands on same single screen; and controlling RTG hooks lock.
