Abstract :
Urban sustainable development (USD) is connected with the urban spatio-temporal change, it is very important for decision-makers to rapidly look up for the development information data and analyse the harmony development trend. Supported with the component object model of geographic information system (COMGIS), urban environment, economic and social statistical database, and harmony development models, the management information system (MIS) has been developed on VB platform. The urban sustainable development MIS was designed with Map Objects to come true the function of spatial management, the different urban development layer can be loaded and removed freely, the attribution data can be acquired by spatial inquiring. Inquired data can be used in the system for further analysis with urban development models. By data binding method, the spatial analysis can be implemented with urban statistical database, to generate special map with symbols and shape. The USD model analysis function was mainly developed by VB platform to do the harmony development analysis by statistic data, calculate the harmony development trend, and display the results in line shape and table.
