Abstract
TI has over a decade of successful history in multi-core processor and system-on-chip (SoC) design. A generic bottom-up SoC architecture approach will be compared to application-domain focussed various multi-core architectures. Heterogeneous designs will be compared to homogeneous solutions. Various performance indicators will be discussed, such as application scope, design challenges, power consumption and development tool chains. The talk will close by addressing some current-day virtualization challenges in multi-core processor design.
