Abstract :
Classification is the foundation to understand the knowledge-intensive goods (KIG) for research and application. The product system and characteristics were described briefly and concisely by the classification model from the perspective of value realization, which indicate the delivery complexity. From the aspect of value realization process, the field of KIG was divided into four quadrants based on two independent classification dimensions - customer type and product shape. The classification results are customized product for collective users, standard product for collective users, customized product for individual users and standardized products for individual users. The classification of KIGs can simplify the management and research process, improve the efficiency of researchers and managers, and provide a concise framework for exploring management strategy of KIGs.
