Abstract :
On the basis of the matrix theory, 2-D matrix concept is extended to 4-D matrix, and the model of 4-D n order matrix is built up in this paper. Also, some related property is discussed and the orthogonal square matrix of 4-D n order matrix is found. The model of 4-D n order matrix can process 4-D data in a unified mathematical model. It can not only keep the high efficiency of reducing redundancy in color space by classical matrix transform but also overcome the restraint of multiplication of 2-D plane matrix. This method can get a better effect for image compression associated with classical DCT than JPEG standard and JPEG2000. And it also have good compatible for the moment universal JPEG and MPEG standard.
