Knowledge Management Based on Ontology Modeling in Collaborative Learning Environment

Resource management, especially knowledge management, has been a critical issue in designing and developing a web-based collaborative learning system. This paper presents task based ontology modeling in a collaborative learning environment. Then, designing and developing subject knowledge ontology based on this model is described in detail. In the light of this model, knowledge is divided into task-independent knowledge and task-dependent knowledge. Furthermore, subject knowledge repository is constructed aiming to develop application-independent knowledge base and accomplish knowledge reusability.
