Abstract
This paper measures educational equity and efficiency in different regions of China by newly statistic data, and an empirical analysis of the relation between educational equity and efficiency is carried out. The major conclusions are as follows: There is an invert-U shape curve between educational equity and efficiency, namely educational efficiency has decreasing marginal effect to educational equity, the moderate educational efficiency can improve equity, but it will lead to loss of educational equity to chase overly high efficiency. Therefore the viewpoint can better reflect the essence of educational development that the opposite and uniform relation between educational efficiency and equity exists.
