Abstract :
Mpeg-4 provides coding based on content. Before coding, each frame in video sequences needs to be divided into VOP (video object planes). Extraction of moving object is the principal problem. An extraction algorithm of video object based on Blackfin 533 DSP is proposed in the paper. The four order statistics of five frames difference are used to automatically separate the motion region from background, and to extract binary mask of moving object, and then to further use morphologic method to fill the gained binary mask. As revealed by experiments, automatic extracting of moving object can be realized easily through this method to facilitate the real-time image management.
