Generalized AGCS with PIM-SM

Due to the lack of native multicast numerous AGCS (Alternative Group Communication Service) mechanisms have been proposed. However the use of these proposal leads to performance issues, reflected by specific parameters like: stress, resource usage, stretch, control overhead and join latency. Motivated by the success of previous attempts, like CastGate with PIM-SM, we propose the generalization of AGCS with PIM-SM as a solution to offer multicast to all the host located within a local domain.
