Abstract
In this paper, a set of parameters self-adaptive vibration tapping system was developed based on analysing the effect of cutting parameters and tap wearing on vibration tapping torque. The cutting parameters of vibration tapping could be self-adjusted and optimized by monitoring actual tapping torque. The tests in titanium alloy indicated that the system is an intelligent one, which could not only optimize cutting parameters quickly and automatically, but also increase tapping efficiency under safe cutting torque.
