  • Abstract
    Diamond cup wheel is an important tool for machining of decorative material ceramic tile. The grinding force varies with different grinding parameters and the compositions of diamond cup wheel are important factors to effective grinding of ceramic tiles. In this paper, ceramic tile S was ground by a diamond cup wheel with a special designed test machine. The spindle speed of diamond cup wheel, feed speed and the depth of grinding are the three major parameters to effect grinding force in the machining process. Grinding force are measured by YDM—III 99 three-dimensional piezoelectric dynamometer. At the same time, maximal force and average force in the process are analyzed. It can be found that feed speed is the major parameter that affects the two grinding forces in orthogonal tests.
