Abstract :
In this paper, a new portable motorcycle exhaust gas analyzer was studied. The Non-dispersive infrared method (NDIR) is used to measure CO, CO2 and HC, the electro-chemical mean is used to test NOX and O2. The electro-magnetic inductor is used to survey the engine speed and the thermal resistance is used to obtain the oil temperature. This analyzer is composed of the sample system, gas examination system, secondary measuring system and display system, which are integrated in a small box. Its hardware includes an embedded 586 motherboard, a LCD display, a USB communication interface and a mini-printer. The operating mode law is used for data gathering and processing. The usability and beautify in the outward appearance is also considered. In the design precision, this analyzer is extremely close to other expensive analyzers. Moreover, the analyzer also can be easily maintained, so it can be widely used.
