Abstract :
For various reasons, many people suffer from the bone defect, and how to solve this problem has become a hot topic internationally in the field of tissue engineering. Nowadays, the doctor diagnoses the state of the bone defect illness mainly depending on observing the CT images of the patient, and the doctor judges the state of the illness by means of his/her experience and his/her 3D imagination of the defect’s shape in the brain; then, the doctor makes the surgery planning. By this means, it mainly depends on the technique and experience of the doctor. In order to diagnose the state of illness more precisely, this paper focuses on development of repairing bone defect visualization system, which includes CT images visualization, 3D bone model visualization, repairing bone defect, and constructing 3D bone scaffold. The state of illness is displayed in the computer, which helps the doctor analyzing the state of illness more objectively. It will increase the success rate of surgery. This system has been applied to assist the doctor diagnosing the state of the bone illness, and the therapy cycle decreases greatly.
