Abstract
The idea of Intelligent Magnetic Bearing (IMB) provides Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) with ‘intelligence’ meaning that both the replaceable working rotor and the replaceable bearing’s information can be recognized when the controller is operating and the control data can be calculated to adjust the system to maintain dynamical stability according to the information in time. In this paper, a method of information storage for serial bearings of IMB is discussed and an intelligent interconnection for data transmission between the storage device and the main controller when bearings are replaced has been proposed. The main job for storage is to determine the distinguishing information of the bearing for ‘online design’ and to write the information into the determined memory. In the other part, a Cypress Embedded USB Host/Slave Controller ,SL811HS will be used as the interface connecting the main intelligent controller of IMB using DSP (TMS320LF2407) and the memory which will be sold as an indispensable chip with the bearing in the future.
