  • Abstract
A novel film antenna is proposed for GSM/DCS/ PCS/UMTS operation in mobile phones. The antenna is constructed by a planar structure which consists of a folded arm and a short-pin section. Meander lines are applied not only for the miniaturization purpose of the antenna but also for the arrangement of the operation frequency. The short-pin section is enlarged by meandering means which broadens the operation bandwidth of the antenna. The antenna can be used in its planar form or folded, without much variation in its radiation performances.
