Abstract :
Resonance and power characteristics of narrow transversal and longitudinal slots in a rectangular waveguide with a dielectric layer are investigated. In the case of the transversal slots a dielectric layer is parallel to broad walls and for longitudinal slots it is parallel to narrow ones. It was shown the possibility of transversal slot resonance radiation in a singlemode operation when the waveguide wavelength is shorter than one in the free space. The validity of the algorithm built for the longitudinal slot is conformed. The reliability of numerical results are confirmed experimentally. The results are useful for slot antenna design and antenna array development that is important for radar hardware and technology applications.
