Abstract :
In this paper, we study the shared path protection (SPP) problem in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks, and propose a novel SPP algorithm with differentiated reliability (DiR) called SPP-DiR. Differing from previous work, SPP-DiR algorithm effectively adapts to the diversity demands of customer requests and has higher resource utilization than SPP algorithm. Therefore, SPP-DiR algorithm outperforms the previous work. Simulation results have shown to be promising.
