Abstract :
This paper mainly aims at the effects of different control methods on the precision of rotor position for a high speed machine with magnetic bearings. The conventional PID controller with two-level pulse width modulation (PWM) switching power amplifier makes the rotor position change on a large bandwidth. In this paper, the differential forward PID with three-level PWM switching power amplifier is introduced for magnetic bearing of high speed machine. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method can enhance the control precision of the rotor position.
