Abstract :
The paper presents an application of a new SAPWM (saddle pulse width modulation) rectifier for the driver of electric actuator to transform 115 V/400Hz AC power to 280 V DC power. In this paper, a comparison between SPWM rectifier and SAPWM rectifier is made by simulation, it proves that the SAPWM rectifier is superior for its higher output power. It also proves that the SAPWM rectify technology can control wide-range current better. The design and control method of the SAPWM rectifier are studied in this paper. And power section in the control process of a 10 kW electric actuator is taken as an example. It is also presented that SAPWM rectifier can attain reduced harmonic components and advanced power factor. The conclusion can finally be drew from the analysis that the SAPWM rectify technology is more suitable to be applied in the electric actuator.
