  • Abstract
    The dynamic performances of a hybrid wind turbine generator system using a shaft generator system are investigated. The hybrid system consists of a wind turbine and generator, a rectifier, a current-source thyristor inverter, a synchronous generator driven by a prime mover and a duplex reactor. The configuration of the hybrid wind turbine generator system is explained first, and a dynamic model of the hybrid system is developed. The dynamic performances of the system when the wind velocity is changed are then discussed. Finally, a control system to keep the output voltage and power of the whole system constant is introduced, and it is shown that these outputs can be controlled almost constant independent of wind velocity.
