Abstract
A design of two-phase hybrid stepping motor driver with current closed-loop control based on the PIC mcu has been presented. A microstepping technique has been implemented in order to meet the requirement of constant torque and smooth movement, which adjusts the current in each winding in sinusoidal fashion. Binary and decimal subdivision are achieved by software programming in the PIC microcontroller whose 8 MHz operating frequency effectively eliminates unwanted audible noise generated by the motor. The closed-loop strategy of current control is adopted to output any desirable current. Experimental investigation indicates that the drive system has good characteristic and is quite simple, reliable and versatile.
