Abstract
There were many inherent advantages on multi-phase permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM). Its prospect was very optimistic. A novel six-phase disc permanent magnetic synchronous motor was presented in this paper. There was a one-rotor-two-stators configuration in the motor. The principle and structure were depicted. Finite element method (FEM) was used to analyze the no-load magnetic field characteristics of this motor. The effect of air gap length on the fundamental amplitude of the air gap flux density and sinusoidal distribution were discussed.
