Abstract :
This paper proposes a low-ripple instantaneous torque control method based on an adaptive torque sharing function for use with switched reluctance motor. The conventional torque sharing function technique is most effective when the SRM operates in low speed range and its performance deteriorates at higher speed. The proposed adaptive torque sharing function has the active period of each phase that can be automatically adjusted corresponding to the operating speed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the computer simulations for a 1.5 kW, 6/4 SRM with rated speed 1,500 r/min.
