Abstract :
Starting toque is computed based on two-dimensional (2-D) FEM with a field-circuit coupled analysis. It is discussed that the starting performance of three-phase capacitor motor is better than that of conventional induction motor, in particular, for the operating condition with starting capacitor. The results of calculation are compared to tested values, and it is verified that this new type motor lead to good operating performance in the application of beam pumping unit.
